Miraculous Mandalas

"I knew that in finding the Mandala as an expression of the self I had attained was for me the ultimate."    C.G.Jung

It was the middle of the night in 2013 when I was suddenly pulled out of sleep with flashing images of Mandalas. I could not get them to stop! This awakening dream with one after the other of amazing images flashing in front of my eyes, kaleidoscopic colours flowing at me. I was dumbfounded as I asked, ‘What on earth does this mean?’

As a natural explorer of life along with the adventure my Soul was taking me on since childhood (although not realising until much later in life) I knew there was a deeper meaning for me in this very mid night awakening. Their revelations would be a journey on its own.

I had also been witnessing how synchronicities (meaningful coincidences) had been at play for some years now and recalled a book a friend had bought for me on this topic. She said she had felt pulled to buy it for me. (Ooo! I wonder why?!)

I furiously scrambled through the shelves of the bookcase praying I had not passed this book to another as I tend to do if they lie on the shelves too long.

In its most simple of forms the Mandala is a circle where its name derived from the Sanskrit (one of the oldest of human language) meaning just that, circle. In this book (yes, I still had it) by June-Elleni Laine she gave another meaning for the meaning of Mandala’s and I highly recommend the reading if you find yourself wanting more, as I did. Coming from the root Manda which means essence (or energy or spirit), we add the suffix ‘la’ to any of the Sanskrit words and we have a container for it. Within the circle lives the essence of the whole. The Soul!

As a Holistic Coach I work with people to see all aspects of themselves. The physical, mental emotional and spiritual. The Soul encompasses them all. This is just my take remember. I invite you to take your own journey.

Mandalas are everywhere we look. The Sun, the Moon, the Planets. They have been here since time began. Our ancestors left clues to their ancient wisdom held in cave drawings, artefacts and jewellery that has been dug up through archelogy finds for centuries in all religious and spiritual practices. Mandala’s are defined as Sacred Geometry designs symbolizing the Universe in its entirety. WE are all a part of the Universe so it is only fitting that we are the Mandala too. Making up the Whole.

On my journey with my Soul I was given these amazing tools to develop and move forward in my human capacities by using them as a MAP which then became the Movement Action Plan as I worked with them

I have always, since childhood, been fascinated with my dreams. I knew they were feeding me with information, yet I was told, as many of us are, ‘och, it’s just your imagination’ and this was dampened down as I grew in height and years. I was led to believe that adults knew what was for my highest good, that my inner voice was ‘a vivid imagination’ and to listen to their external voice instead. I had to learn to forgive them for that because they too had been quietened with ‘children should be seen and not heard’. A stumbling block for many, their creative nature squashed.

So, some of us use our creative inner space to reveal our voices externally through drawing, painting, knitting, making music, poetry etc, etc. We reveal our true selves through creativity. Our non-verbal communication held within us to be revealed (or not), repressed in our sub-conscious and unconscious mind to then become conscious through our art in whatever form that takes.

As we are talking about Mandala’s, I found my voice through the unconscious in different ways using different tools, however this one, in particular, became a regular. There are many paths to take us to our Source Energy and this one incorporates meditation, contemplation and creativity in one. This is why I like them so much.

I believe there are many bodies of energy we can tap into in the seen and unseen worlds. The inner and outer spaces if you like. We are encompassed with energy frequencies. I came across Dr Carl Jung many years ago when I took to study various psychologists. He became a favourite due to my out of body experience as I was exploring my experience with a Power greater than me. I came to know how my dreams were really playing out in my life with those in my life along with much more.

Our bodies are the containers that hold onto the essence of our Soul. My Soul would communicate with me through the Mandala. I learned to interpret my own and was astounded at the manifestation that came from the messages of my Soul within this map.

Any issue that arose for me I could sit with a Mandala and use it to move energy. The great thing though is I do not need to be able to draw for this. I can adopt a playful, childlike wonder once again and trust the process. I would always want to create a masterpiece and criticise my artwork horribly in school and in art classes I attended over the years. Never happy with what I had created. With Mandalas it does not matter as there are no rules which is something my creative rebel loves.

After a trip to Peru in 2014 I was urged by my Soul to draw and colour 7 Mandalas to represent my journey to date through my Chakras. While I write I am to create more for others to use as meditative and contemplative tools on their journey. My Soul will always lead me in the direction I need to go. My human self may not like it yet it is always for my highest good. All Ways!
